This IS the plot twist to end all plot twists. Most people overlook this one, because it is so iconic, but think about the first time you ever saw episode V. Lets put this in perspective. Up to this point, you believe Luke’s father was murdered by Darth Vader. Darth Vader was responsible for the deaths of the only 2 father figures Luke had in his life (Obi Wan and Uncle Owen). Darth Vader is the face of the Empire, which Luke has has sworn to destroy as part of the Rebel Alliance. And then BAM! Vader cuts Luke’s arm off, and drops one of the biggest bombshells in cinematic history…. “I AM your father!”  I wish I could have seen this for the first time in theaters. To watch Vader say it without KNOWING he was going to say it.
